March 2006
There has been a lot of excitement lately among the leadership of St. Paul
congregation. Between the input from congregational members at the "Cottage
Meetings", the Core Values Workshop, and the upcoming Ventures in
Stewardship Seminar a lot of excitement is brewing. For me this all ties in with
our new Mission Statement:
"To love and worship God, to love and serve one another, to learn and share
God's word."
I plan to highlight the Core Values within our Mission Statement during our
upcoming Lenten Services. Love, Worship, Learn, Serve, and Share will be the
topics for each of these services during the middle five Wednesdays of Lent.
Come and join us in the period of reflection on St. Paul's Mission and your part
in it. To start our meditations here are some verses to ponder before coming to
these services.
Love - "For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son that
whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
John 3:16
Worship - "Worship the Lord your God and serve only him." Mathew 4:10
Learn "...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."
Mathew 28:20
Serve - "Very truly I tell you servants are not greater than their master, ..." John
13:16
Share - "Now the whole group of those who believed were of one heart and soul,
and no one claimed private ownership of any possessions, but everything they
had was held in common. Acts 4:32
These are just a departure point for our lessons during Lent. I hope you will join
us for the Soup Suppers at 6:00pm and stay for the Lenten Service at 7:00pm.
Following will be our Adult Lenten and Easter Bible Study. Know you are
welcome then also.
